What’s the difference between the 4 shade providing structures?
Roof
constructed as an extension of your home’s roof. It is designed and constructed to blend with the style and architecture of your house. The roof may be supported by pillars or walls. A complete roof over the outdoor space allows for installation of items that could not be used if the space were exposed to the elements. Roofed structures allow installation of full kitchens, electronics including televisions and sound systems, furniture that wouldn’t hold up to moisture, fireplaces, etc. Suburban Oasis builds roofs that are functional and beautiful.
Gazebo
Free-standing structure with a roof and open sides. The most familiar gazebo is one that is 6 or 8 sided. But they can also be square, rectangular or round. A simple gazebo consists of a roof supported by posts. Many are built with low walls that make it possible to add screens, doors, windows, and benches.
Pergola
an outdoor structure consisting of columns supporting a roofing grid of beams and rafters. The grid may be open or covered depending on how much shelter from the elements is desired. Pergolas may be free standing or attached to a house or other building.
Arbor
structure similar to a pergola. Arbors are typically freestanding and relatively small. They feature vertical support structures and a cover of material shaped in a grid, lathe, or artistic pattern suitable for supporting vines, climbing roses, and clinging, leaning, or twining plants.
